This session will share practical and actionable tips to help companies and their employees protect company trade secrets and confidential information. We'll explore how to prevent theft, reduce liability, and avoid mishandling of sensitive data—empowering teams to uphold security standards and protect the organization’s intellectual assets.
Thomas Hubert, Partner, Jones Walker LLP’s Labor & Employment Practice Group, is a lead trial attorney for the trade secrets, unfair competition, and non-competes team. Since 1989, Thomas has practiced primarily in the area of labor and employment law, as well as in areas that fall under more traditional commercial claims. Specifically, he has focused on business and commercial litigation, and labor and employment (including commercial contracts, Unfair Trade Practices Act, Trade Secret Act, covenant not to compete agreements, defamation, errors and omissions for insurance agents and stock brokers, directors and officers, and defense of homeowners' associations and boards of directors) in jury and judge trials throughout the Southeast, as well as in proceedings before administrative agencies. Thomas has handled hundreds of claims as a litigant and is formally trained and qualified to mediate complex cases as a neutral.
Joe Lavigne is a partner in Jones Walker LLP's Labor & Employment Practice Group and an experienced litigator in trade secret and non-compete disputes. As a lead attorney on Jones Walker’s trade secrets, unfair competition and non-competes team, Joe focuses his practice on prosecuting and defending claims of employee misconduct involving trade secret violations, unfair trade practices, non-compete violations, invasion of privacy, computer fraud and Abuse Act issues, theft and related disputes. He also advises clients on employment policies and practices and regularly negotiates employment agreements for employers.
CFI Session: Insuring Success When Using Wet Set Adhesives presented by Rod von Busch, CIM, Vice President of Operations, CDI Floors
Utilizing wet set adhesives requires a much different approach than when utilizing PSAs. From planning to completion of a resilient project, each step requires management of environmental conditions, slab porosity, working time, layout, adhesive transfer, adhesive clean up and even proper rolling of the material. These are just some of considerations an installer should account for before beginning an installation.
Rod von Busch, CIM, Vice President of Operations, CDI Floors, has been in the flooring industry since entering it as an installer in 1979. Rod serves as the chairman of the CFI Advisory Board and is on the FCICA Board of Directors. Active in the industry, Rod has been a long-term CFI member, joining the organization in 1995. He holds several industry designations including the CFI Commercial Carpet and Advanced Resilient certification and the FCICA Certified Installation Manager (CIM) certification.
